Any staff member who becomes sick shall notify their principal or immediate supervisor and shall not report to school.
CCS will separate staff and students with COVID-19 symptoms (such as fever, cough, or shortness of breath) at school. Individuals who are sick should go home or to a healthcare facility depending on how severe their symptoms are, and follow CDC guidance for caring for oneself and others who are sick.
Each school will designate an isolation room or area to separate anyone who has COVID-19 symptoms or tests positive but does not have symptoms. School personnel will provide the individual with a face covering and will move them to the monitored isolation room. The isolation room will be thoroughly cleaned after any use.
Schools will close off areas used by a sick person and will not use these areas until after cleaning and disinfecting.
Schools will ensure safe and correct use and storage of cleaning and disinfection products, including storing products securely away from children.
CCS will notify the Virginia Department of Health, staff, and families immediately of any case of COVID-19 while maintaining student or staff confidentiality.
CCS will stay in contact with staff and families regarding plans to reopen each school as the need for closure arises.
