Campbell County Online Learning Academy

October 5, 2020

Dear Parents/Guardians,

As we prepare for the second nine weeks of instruction, we are giving students the opportunity to return to in-person instruction or enroll in the Campbell County Online Learning Academy to complete their assignments virtually. If you feel like your child needs to transfer to one or the other, please contact their home school by the end of this week, October 9, by 3:00 p.m. If we experience a significant increase in the number of students wishing to return to in-person instruction it will impact our current schedule of operations. The number of days children currently attend school, in-person, could be reduced in order to account for additional students while maintaining social distancing. For example, students that are attending four days a week currently in-person may be reduced to two days a week. Schedules will be determined once we receive and process enrollment requests. The second nine weeks is scheduled to start on November 4, so enrollment changes will begin at that time. Additional students returning to in-person instruction will also impact transportation. We encourage students to be car riders when possible because bus capacity is limited.

Students attending the Campbell County Technical Center do not have the virtual only option and must continue to attend in-person classes as scheduled.

Following this nine weeks enrollment period, students will be required to remain with their in-person or virtual choice for the remainder of the school year, or until the Virginia Department of Health issues new guidance related to Covid-19. This will be done in order to stabilize our class rosters, provide transportation, and enforce health mitigation strategies designed to keep our students and staff safe.

Again, please contact your child’s home school by the end of the school day, Friday, October 9, only if you wish to change your enrollment status.

Thank you for your continued support.

Sincerely,

Clayton Stanley

Assistant Superintendent
