Are masks required on the bus?
Yes, because of CDC and VDH recommendations, masks are required for students and drivers on the buses because students will be placed one per seat and cannot maintain 6 feet of social distancing. Students living in the same household may sit on the same seat. If a student does not have a mask, one will be provided.
2. Will CCPS provide transportation to and from daycare facilities in Campbell County (i.e. Caterpillar Clubhouse)?
Yes, specific details related to the drop off and pick up times will be provided by transportation.
3. Can my child be dropped off at a different address from his/her pick up location?
No, in order to guarantee seats and COVID guidelines for contact tracing, we need to drop off and pick up at the same location every day.
4. Can I request bus service for either the afternoon or the morning only?
No, we cannot guarantee seats for the students due to capacity limitations on our buses. To ensure that we are transporting as many students as possible, each seat will be assigned for AM and PM.
5. Can my child go home with a friend on the bus after school?
We will not be able to accommodate those requests during the COVID pandemic.
6. I will be driving my child to school, but there might be times that I might need the bus service. Can I request that accommodation?
No, our buses are limited to 1/3 capacity seating during the COVID pandemic. Once you decide on a mode of transportation for your child, we need your support by staying with that choice until COVID restrictions are modified.
7. What will I do if I opt to drive my child(ren) to school but need bus transportation on a particular day?
Due to the circumstances of restrictions on school buses, we will not be able to make last minute changes to our bus schedule. While in Phases 2 and 3, if parents opt out of bus transportation, we ask that you follow through with the commitment to drive your child to school until COVID restrictions are lifted.
