To save, or export a model or a model assembly in STL Format:
In this example we will export or use the save as function on the different parts of the Lego Car Assessment.
Open the following files in SolidWorks:
1x2 Lego.SLDPRT
1x2_Angle Lego.SLDPRT
2x2 Axel Lego.SLDPRT
2x6 Lego.SLDPRT
Lego Rim.SLDPRT
Tire.SLDPRT
To export these as .stl files you must do a file Save As: for each one of the files
Choose File> Save As. The Save As Dialog box appears.
2. Click on the Save As Type drop-down menu.
3. Change the Save As Type: to STL (*.stl)
4. The Save As file type is now set to STL. Next we must make sure our options are set correctly.
9. In the Resolution section, select the appropriate option
Select Custom, you can manually adjust the Deviation and Angle settings

Tolerance: 0.02516647mm
Angle: Tolerance: 10.00000deg
Note: The higher the resolution, the larger the size of the file, and the longer it takes to generate
14. Proceed to the 3D Printer Slicing Program.
