Welcome to 1st Grade!
We are looking forward to seeing you in September!
Summer Reading List
1st Grade
This summer, we invite you to enjoy at least one book, either from the list below or a book of your choosing. Feel free to read it on your own or with a little help from mom or dad!
When we return to school in September, you’ll have the chance to share a brief 1–2 minute “Book Buzz” with your class. It’s a fun way to recommend your book and let others know what you enjoyed about it.
Your Book Buzz can include:
A short summary of the book you read.
A character you really liked (or didn’t!) and why they stood out to you?
Whether or not you’d recommend the book to others, and what made you feel that way?

MATH
For our Kindergarten and 1st grade students, we’d like to suggest the purchase of the BJU Vacation Stations (CAN BE PURCHASED FROM CHRISTIANBOOK.COM) for your child. It is a way for your child to continue to practice what they have learned. A few pages a week can really help to reinforce the important skills they have learned during the school year. This student-friendly book allows students to practice these learned skills. Just 20 minutes of practice per week, during the summer months, can really help reinforce what they’ve been learning.
As your child completes a few pages a week , they’ll continue to make use of the knowledge gained—all while practicing important skills. It’s a great way to keep them learning a little bit at a time!
