Most of Skyward's internal workings revolve around a small set of calendars that "tell" Skyward how it is expected to operate, taking into account things like:
which days are expected school days, and which are not, including partial days for things like conferences, PD days, or half days.
When the first and last day of a given school year are, including start and end dates for marking periods.
Controlling which days attendance needs to be taken, as well as calculating days attended and days possible for state reporting.
