Live Sessions for English 1 

Description:

Your attendance to our weekly live session is a requirement and counts toward your grade in our course. We meet once a week. The sessions are fun and interactive and they supplement what you are learning in Edgenuity. You will meet and work with other students, use the tools provided in the classroom to write on the board, answer multiple choice questions,  search for clues in scavenger hunts, and complete activities in Google Classroom. 

Students who attend live sessions for courses tend to do much better in their classwork because they have had opportunity to engage with the material on a deeper level and to practice using their new skills with feedback from the teacher and other students.

Your grade for live sessions each week will be based on two components: Attendance and Exit Assignments. Your grade for live sessions will be updated every Learning Period in the Additional category of your grade. It is worth 10% of your total grade in the class.

Please set yourself a reminder now so that you remember to come to our session every week!

Live Attendance Requirements:

One component of your grade for a live session is Attendance. Students are assessed for Live Session Attendance based on the following:

• student arrived on time and stayed the entire session

• student was actively engaged during the session

  • typing into the chatbox

  • using the whiteboard when asked to do so

  • selecting an answer when polled or called on

  • volunteering when asked to

  • contributing meaningfully to discussion

Exit Assignment Requirements

The second component of your grade for live sessions is your successful completion of Exit Ticket Assignments housed in Google Classroom.
