What happens if you didn't do well on your quiz or tests? Don't panic! Both quizzes and tests have two attempts for you to earn a passing score. Make sure to review your notes carefully and study (reach out to your content teacher for support) before starting your second attempt.
Quizzes: if you fail your second attempt on a quiz, you should contact your content teacher to inquire about his/her policy in earning a third attempt.
Tests can not be attempted a third time.
The purpose of Overall Grade is to show mastery of content and skills in the course.
Actual Grade is more indicative of how the student is actually performing in the class. This metric considers two key factors: 1) how the student has performed so far in the class, and 2) whether the student is behind, on track, or ahead in the course work. Actual Grade uses a ratio that represents the student’s actual progress divided by their target progress and assigns a zero for work that is overdue.
Relative Grade assumes a zero score for all remaining work in class until it is completed. It is the points earned so far divided by the points possible in the entire class, including the final exam. In other words, if the student were to drop out of class today without completing any more course work, Relative Grade tells us what their grade would be.
