Your Fitness Log is where you record your daily physical activity as part of your PE class. Since you are taking an online PE class you do not have the face to face exercise time with your teacher each day. Instead, it is your responsibility to complete at least 40 minutes of physical activity of your choice on your own each day and record it in your Fitness Log. Your Fitness Log tracks the types of activity and duration you spend. You should see improvement in your overall fitness during the semester.
Choose your activity category (Strength, Cardio, Flexibility)
Click on the calendar date. Only school days - no weekends or holidays! You may access previous dates by clicking in the date space. A calendar will appear.
Type in the activity name
Enter in time spent in minutes (You need 40 minutes a day Monday through Friday)
OPTIONAL: Write a 1 sentence description of what you did under "Notes"
Click "Add" to save your entry.
You must have 40 minutes of physical activity every school day.
It is ok if you have the same type of activity each day.
Time recorded in minutes.
DO NOT PUT ACTIVITY IN YOUR LOG FOR NON-SCHOOL DAYS (Holidays, weekends, etc.) - anytime weekend or holiday entries will not count towards your grade!
Fitness Log is graded for completeness (# of days, # of minutes, correctly filled in) = 50% of your PE Grade
You will be able to go back and update missing days in your Fitness Log at any point during the semester for full credit!

Swimming
Surfing
Bicycling
Skateboarding
Sports Practice - Name the Sport

Weight Lifting
Yoga
Dance
Exercise Videos/Wii Sports/Xbox Kinect
Floor Exercises - Pushups, Crunches/Situps, Planks, etc.
Exercise bike, treadmill, stair climber, etc.
DO NOT WRITE THE FOLLOWING IN YOUR FITNESS LOG:
Who you did the activity with - For example:
Walked with mom
Ran with dog
Went to gym - be specific about what you did in the gym
Going to Disney Land or other amusement parks
Going to the mall or other shopping centers and walking around
House chores
Gardening
Did not do PE
Sick
If you are sick or injured you must notify your PE teacher immediately to work out a plan on how you will still complete your daily fitness log.
Depending on how long you will need to recover we may have you:
Do extra minutes on a different day to make up for the ones you miss.
Do modified exercises. For example if you sprained your ankle you can still sit in a chair and do arm exercises.
Complete an alternate assignment to make up missing days - this is for severe cases with more than one week of missed log entries.
