The eco-committee is led by Mrs Woodland and Miss Frost.

Here at Lodge Hill Primary our aim is to make our new school as eco-friendly as possible. Our eco-committee are central to helping us achieve this goal. The eco-committee at Lodge Hill is run by children from each year group. 

We hold fortnightly meetings where ideas are shared on how to make our school and community even more environmentally friendly.

Some of the activities and projects we have lead and taken part in are;

• Updating the recycling bins to new and improved ones.

• Daily recycling initiatives in each classroom e.g. paper, pen and pencil.

• Embarking on becoming a Fair trade school by making pupils more aware of the injustices of trade.

• Undertaking a 'Save Energy' project with Newport City Council.

• Exploring food miles and food waste in partnership with Chartwells.
