Honors and Awards
The student's weighted GPA will be used to calculate honor roll status. Honors, AP, and some community college courses do receive an extra grade point. If you have questions about the GPA or Class Rank, please reach out to your student's High School Counselor.
Honor Roll
Students who earn a high enough GPA are awarded honor roll, Summa Cum Laude, or Magna Cum Laude status during the graduation ceremony.
Summa Cum Laude: The top 5% of the class, as calculated with the weighted GPA at the end of the fall semester of the student’s graduating year. Summa Cum Laude is recognized with a gold medal to wear at graduation.
Magna Cum Laude: The top 5.1-10% of the class, as calculated with the weighted GPA at the end of the fall semester of the student’s graduating year. Magna cum Laude is recognized with a cord in the school colors (teal & white) at graduation
Cum Laude: Students with a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or higher at the end of the fall semester of their final year will receive the Cum Laude designation. Cum Laude students receive a white honor cord to wear at graduation.
National Honor Society members in good standing receive a gold-and-blue cord to wear at graduation.
