The Hammond Sewing Studio is available to all Ringling students, faculty, and approved staff. The Sewing Studio has facilities for cutting, pressing, and sewing fabric, as well as weaving, crochet, and embroidery.

Authorizations
Authorizations
Users are required to complete an online or in-person authorization before using the equipment in the studio. Authorizations are given for each piece of equipment, rather than the space as a whole, and are good for one calendar year from the date the training is completed.

Singer Heavy Duty Sewing Machines (online)
Irons and Steamers (online)
Serger (in person)
Industrial Sewing Machines (in person)
To complete the online authorizations, click the button below to enroll in the Makerspace Canvas course then go to Modules and begin the training for the equipment you wish to use.
To complete the in-person authorizations click the buttons below to see available sessions and sign up to reserve your spot. Don't see a session that fits your schedule? Contact makerspace@c.ringling.edu and we will try to accommodate you.

The Hammond Sewing Studio is open to all authorized Ringling College of Art + Design students and faculty.
Staff may make a written request for special permission from the Vice President for Academic Affairs to use the facilities for a specific project for a specific period of time.Â
Continuing education students may use the facilities only during their scheduled class times.
Upon arrival at the studio, you will be asked to sign in and your authorization status will be checked before you begin working.

The studio provides limited quantities of thread, pins, and fabric scraps. Users must bring all other materials they plan to work with.
