Reviewer Expectations

Work Schedule

Your position as an independent contractor offers a flexible work schedule. We ask that reviewers review submissions at least 5 days per week, but the timing of that is entirely up to each reviewer. You are not expected to work on Sundays.

Some reviewers prefer to work in the mornings or afternoons, while others work overnight.

Reviewers are able to adjust their schedules as needed throughout the semester. We simply ask that you notify OSI in advance for any time off you may need. You are expected to review additional submissions to make up for any weeks where you did not meet your quota. 

All learner submissions are put into a single reviewer portal, and reviewers pull one submission at a time, according to the order that they were submitted. Reviewers work together to keep the combined portal queue under a 24-hour turnaround time.

Stay Connected

Before beginning work each day, please review new messages on the Discord chat and check your email so you will know how to proceed for the day. Often, we will send out directives and updates having to do with the portal, or information about reviewing.  

When a Discord message addressed to "@everyone" is sent, please acknowledge receipt within 48 hours by either replying to the message or reacting to it with an emoticon.

The chat is also a great place to get answers to your questions. Seasoned reviewers are a great resource and are happy to share tips and feedback ideas. If you have a question, please ask.
