As was mentioned in the video, there are two components to the learner experience. Understanding them will help you be a more effective reviewer.
EC3 learners develop English skills in two main ways:
1. Gatherings: Learners attend weekly group gatherings where they practice conversation skills and give feedback on each other's writing homework. Some groups gather in person at a church building. Most are assigned to a virtual group of learners from a large geographic area. For example, one class may have 32 learners from 16 African countries. Learners take turns presenting each week. EC3 senior service missionaries are provided with weekly presentation materials and support the learner presenting that week's material.
2. Practice: The second way learners increase proficiency is to practice English skills in a learning portal throughout the week. The practice assignments they submit comprise the majority of what you will review.
