Remote Learning and Working
This page is intended for teachers and staff members who will be remote working or supporting remote learning.
This page is meant to supplement, not replace, the official BVSD Staff "Working Remotely" page. Please use that page as your main source of information.
Besides our existing tools like email and Google Drive, remote working and teaching remotely will call for some additional tools. Here is a list of pages that may be useful to teachers and staff who are new to remote working or teaching remotely:
Infinite Campus Resources:
An Infinite Campus Tutorial for students and parents (you have permission to use/copy/modify any part of this page)
Infinite Campus Resources for Teachers (goes with a PD offered by the IT Training Center)
SchoolMessenger - send emails to your students and/or their parents
FluentCloud WebPhone - make work-related phone calls to parents/students using your BVSD work number, not your personal phone number
Google Meet - use this tool to hold remote meetings, record mini-lessons for class, or host "office hours" for your students
Creating Breakout Groups in Google Meet - a series of videos with steps on creating breakout groups in Google Meet (intended only to be used until Google Meet's official support rolls out in the fall of 2020)
Screencasting - record videos for your students, your co-workers, parents, etc. Great for mini-lessons and directions
Schoology Resources (for teachers)
Google Classroom resources (for teachers)
Need to access the VPN? Some BVSD tools require you to be connected to the BVSD VPN. If you find out you need to connect to the BVSD VPN for some task, check your email for an email titled "VPN Connection Needed to Access BVSD Reports and Tools in Infinite Campus"
