Homework bags will come home with your student each Monday and will be returned to school each Friday. In Kindergarten, we do not expect children to be spending a great deal of time working on homework. Rather, our philosophy is to help learners understand the routine of bringing materials home to work on and share with you, and then returning them to school at the end of the week. It is all about setting them up for the routines that will be expected in upper grade levels.
We do not expect them to do homework for more than 10 minutes per night. Of course, we ALWAYS encourage you to read with your child every night and explore the rich conversations that you can have while reading a wonderful book together.
Students will receive 2-3 pages from their math workbooks to complete each week.
Students will have 2-3 leveled reading books to read to you. Repetition is important, so they may read these books to you (or their siblings, or the dog and cat, or a stuffed animal) each day.
Fundations - students will be given letter formation practice worksheets each week.
