Mrs. Ringenbach (Mrs. R or even Mrs. Art if you talk to the Kindergarteners) graduated from Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio. She has a BA in Art Education K-12 along with an MA in Educational Technology and has been teaching art for over 20 years. As an artist herself, Mrs. R is excited to continue the choice-based studio model at Emerald this year. While teaching basic skills and techniques to children, Mrs. R will also be modeling what it is like to be an actively engaged, self-directed artist. She hopes to teach children to use art not only as a form of self-expression, but as a springboard for creative thinking and as a tool for problem-solving which can be used outside of the art studio. Mrs. R's mission is to help children to share their personal interests and stories, to find joy and laughter in the creative process, to feel pride in themselves and their work, and to feel successful in their choices and actions.
“You can't use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.”

"Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep."

"We don't make mistakes, just happy little accidents."
