Math
We use the Math Expressions program to help students meet the math standards.
Math Standards:
- Number, Sense, Properties, and Operations
- Describes place value relationships and demonstrates an understanding of the whole number system within and beyond 100
- Uses number relationships to solve addition and subtraction problems
- Data Analysis, Statistics, and Probability
- Uses visual displays of information to answer questions
- Shape, Dimension, and Geometric Relationships
- Creates, composes and decomposes shapes; describes and defines attributes of shapes
- Uses measurement to compare and order objects
Standards for Mathematical Practice:
- Makes sense of the problem, shows persistence, and attends to precision (SMP 1 & 6)
- Expresses reasoning and understands the reasoning of others (SMP 2 & 3)
- Uses math to solve real world problems and utilizes tools appropriately (SMP 4 & 5)
- Sees structures and patterns in math (SMP 7 & 8)
