Writing

First graders will:

• Use the writing process (plan, draft, revise, edit, illustrate) to create Informative, narrative, opinion, and research pieces.
• Practice and use conventions, spelling patterns, and student's thought and ideas through the writing process

Writing Standards:

• Plans, organizes, writes, and publishes narratives for intended audiences and purposes
• Plans, organizes, writes, and publishes informative/ explanatory and opinion pieces
• Applies conventions of standard English grammar and usage, capitalization, punctuation, and spelling consistently
