Daily Slides
Each Daily Slide will provide a guide you to what we did in class and where to find the work. Often their are links to the activities and assignments. If you are absent, this is your first stop. The following is in every slide:

Grade Weighting
Just like in the "real world", showing up every day and doing what you are supposed to do counts the most in this class. Also, paying your bills and managing your finances never gets a spring break. Most of your success will come from showing up every day and doing the work in class and in your simulator. Major grades(combined formative and summative) consistent of tests and projects.
The Final represents the conclusion of your course, but the smallest part of your grade. The final consists of your completed snip note folio, 20 year life plan and final reflections.
The Simulator requires you to live out the next financial year during our semester. Each real week represents a month in the simulator. Every week you will need to pay your bills. As the semester progresses you will need to decide on a class job, elect health insurance, buy a car, rent an apartment, buy a house, invest, and still save $10,000 to buy your last 10 points. That is a LOT of financial activity! You will live it and suffer the consequences if you fail to meet a major life objective. Most of your simulation score is based on your credit score and on time payment history, so NEVER forget to pay your bills!
There will be various cut offs for late work throughout the semester(i.e. quarter end). If you want to turn in late work, and your are within my communicated cut off time frame, I will still accept it( usually without point penalty). I grade work rapidly and there will not be long time lags between the turn in time and the grading, so stay on schedule. I WILL NOT RESPOND TO EMAILS asking me to grade your late work on your schedule. Do not create extra emails and work for me because you are behind on your work.
The process to get your late grade into the grade book is as follows:
Come in during my office hours, or after school, or during tutor time and show me your work. Once you have done this step, I will enter your grade into Infinite Campus immediately.
Write me a private note in Schoology alerting me that your late work has been turned in.
Away for the Day - Phone Policy
I fully support and enforce the away for the day phone policy.
You will have a spot for your phone for the entire semester. I will require you to put your phone in the phone hotel spot daily and that is how I will check attendance. If you tell me you don't have your phone at school, I will email your parents to confirm. Any phones or headphones will be taken to the office. I will not give warnings.
You will be required to give your phone in exchange for a hall pass when going to the restroom. Your phone will be returned when you return the hall pass.
