Staff Appreciation Week
May 3-7, 2021
Staff Appreciation Week is coming up here at BVCS! Please join me in showering our awesome staff members with love, appreciation (and yes, treats!) during the week of May 3 - 7. We want to honor our staff during this week, yet keep the celebrating manageable for our families. Please join in and help celebrate where you can.
You may choose to help by:
Monday 5/3 & Tuesday 5/4 Notes of Encouragement - Your child may bring notes of encouragement, cards, or pictures for the staff!
Wednesday 5/5 & Thursday 5/6 Snacks, Treats, or Drinks served in the staff rooms. Parents, you may choose to bring a snack, drinks, or treats to the office for staff to enjoy on Wednesday morning or Thursday morning. Items can be delivered to your child’s main school office.
We are so thankful for the dedicated men and women of God that pour their lives into our children each day. What a great opportunity to pause and show our staff how much we appreciate the investment they make in our students’ lives, the Christ-like example they demonstrate, and the joy they infuse into learning.
I'd like to share a few things with you about the BVCS Tuition Assistance Offering....
First - praise!
Almost $37,000 has been raised - and $113,000 to go to meet our $150,000 goal!
Several BVCS and BVG staff have given. Thank you!
Second - prayer!
Prayer that God will provide the funds to meet the tuition assistance needs for the 2021-2022 school year as we are experiencing record-breaking growth.
I know for me, it is an annual honor for my family to give to Tuition Assistance for two reasons:
BVCS has been a major influence in the lives of my own three children.
I have seen first-hand the powerful impact of a Christ-centered education on the lives of countless children and families over my 16 years at BVCS.

CAROL SHOUR MEMORIAL SERVICE
Carol Shour's memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 20 at 11:00 a.m. in the Big Valley Grace Worship Center.
This is a minimum day for elementary with a noon dismissal. To help our elementary staff attend, you may pick your elementary child up at 10:50 a.m. on 5/20. Any students still on campus after 11:00 a.m. will get to go to recess time, supervised by BVCS staff.
BOOK FAIR
Students love to read at BVCS, and we hope you visit our online Book Fair from April 25 - May 9. It’s a great way to connect children with books they want to read this summer! Look through our featured sections for suggestions by our staff. We have something for everyone in the family. Please contact Apryl Hughes, aprylh@bvcs.org, with any questions.

For our upcoming promotions and graduations, we will not need to restrict the number of people allowed to attend due to the large spaces we will be using. Livestreaming will be available for 8th Grade Promotion and High School Graduation (both of these events are taking place in the Worship Center). Please see the following "upcoming events" for locations and times.
