Students love to read at BVCS, and we hope you visit our online Book Fair from April 25 - May 9. It’s a great way to connect children with books they want to read this summer! Save the Date: The Big Valley Christian School 7th grade Hume Lake Outdoor Education experience has been booked for next year! We have put our reservation in for the week of October 18-22. Thank you to the parents who volunteered this year to be counselors. Next year, the BVCS Junior High principal, Mr. Ray, will be in contact with parents regarding the need for counselors for the 7th graders. We are very excited that our students will be offered this opportunity next year!

ELEMENTARY CHAPEL NEWS
All chapels are now live on Mondays. You can watch them live online or go back to see them again later at bvcslions.com/chapel. Note: We are utilizing the large worship center with three grades at a time spaced out in the room. If you are uncomfortable sending your child to chapel, please contact your child's teacher and we can make arrangements for them to stay behind and watch online.

SUMMER SESSIONS
We will be offering unique and exciting summer sessions on campus. Your child will have a chance to review, learn, create, and play all in a Christ-centered environment.

Sessions are 3 days a week: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
Spots are filled in the order in which registration is received.
You will need to pay for all sessions in advance by May 3.
Each session costs $75 per week.
Come to the BVCS office to pay by cash or check (make checks payable to BVCS).
Or contact gwynethf@bvg.org to set up the payment through your FACTS account.
Refunds will not be given, in part or whole, if a child misses a session. You may select a different session if there is space available.
Sessions may have grades 1/2, 3/4, 5/6 combined.
Curriculum for each session has been prepared by an administrative team. Class sessions will be taught by experienced teaching assistants under the supervision of a Summer Program Director.
There is a minimum of 7 students for each session. If the minimum of students and/or staffing is not met by May 31, we may have to cancel the session.
Session Days/Times: Sessions are on Tue, Wed, Thu from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Children picked up after 12:00 p.m. will be assessed a $1.00 per minute late fee. Snack: Children are required to bring a backpack, a snack and a water bottle every day.

Session Details: Students will review grade-level standards by using the subjects of Bible, Math, Language Arts, PE, and Music to explore the following weekly topics:

JUNE 15 - 17 Session 2: Weather Week
JUNE 22 - 24 Session 3: Farm Life Week
JUNE 29 - JULY 1 Session 4: Treasure Hunters Week
JULY 6 - 8 Session 5: Gardening/Plants Week
JULY 12 - 16 No Session - We encourage families to join the fun at Big Valley Grace’s Kids Campus!

SUMMER EXTENDED CARE
Our summer extended care program is now available for students who are enrolled for the 2021-2022 school year and will be in 1st - 8th grades.
Extended Care hours are from 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Monday - Friday with the exception of July 5 when we are closed in observance of the 4th of July. In the following sign-up, please pick the week(s) you would like your child to attend.

The weekly flat rates are:
$225 per week for all-day (for students not attending Summer Sessions)
($180 for the weeks of May 31 and July 5)
$37 per week for morning - any time between 7:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. (for those students attending Summer Sessions)
($30 for the weeks of May 31 and July 5)
$137 per week for afternoon - any time between 12:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. (for those students attending Summer Sessions)
($110 for the weeks of May 31 and July 5)
Other Information:
Sign-ups close at noon on Friday, May 21.
Pre-payment for all sessions is due by Monday, May 24, 2021.
Payment can be paid in the school office between 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
There will be no registration fee.
Pay by cash or check (make checks payable to BVCS).

Your child must be fully enrolled at BVCS to secure a spot in Extended Care.

BVCS SUMMER 2021 BARTON & MATH TUTORING
Details and information about the BVCS Summer 2021 Barton and Math Tutoring programs will be sent home soon. Please direct any questions to your student's teacher and/or Mrs. Tan at florencet@bvcs.org.
RECYCLE MINISTRY
The elementary school is excited to partner with the BVG Recycle Ministry! The Recycle Ministry benefits REACH, which is the missions department at Big Valley Grace. Currently, the collected funds are going towards the Big Valley Christian School Global Reach Crew fund for their planned trip to the Dominican Republic.
Here's how you can participate! Bring your larger recycling to the drop-off center in the back of the East parking lot near Good Sam ministry. The center will be open every 1st and 3rd Friday from 7:45 am - 9 am and Sundays from 8:30 am - 12:30 pm beginning on March 19. Only CRV eligible items will be accepted.
