For those choosing Home Education, Affidavits and Educational Objectives ARE DUE by August 1st, and Home Education Evaluation is due by June 30th each year. Only the Affidavit is to be notarized, the Home Education Evaluation does not need notarized. Paperwork should be delivered in person, or mailed to Dr Egnor, Director of Student Services.
Home Schooling
The Burrell School District recognizes the legal rights of parents and guardians to educate their child(ren) in their home, pursuant to the provisions of the Pennsylvania Act 169 of 1988, and in accordance with Sections 1327 and 1327.1 of the Pennsylvania School Code. The Burrell School District requires parents and guardians who elect this option for educating their child(ren) to adhere to all of the legal requirements as defined in Section 1327.1 of the Pennsylvania School Code. Accordingly, the Burrell School District will review the annual evaluation, provided by a qualified evaluator of a home education program, of any student who is home schooled (between the ages of 6 and 17).
