Wow! What a short but very busy term we have had! The year two children have worked incredibly hard this term across all areas of the curriculum and they suddenly seem so grown up. Our topic 'The Big Smoke' has been hugely popular amongst the children and they have enjoyed learning about the Great Fire of London through our text, 'Vlad and the Great Fire of London.' We were lucky enough to have a drama workshop to enrich our topic. The workshop was amazing and the children thoroughly enjoyed getting into character.
In Maths, the children have worked hard on one of the trickiest units, time! They have all tried so hard to tell the time to five minutes. Telling the time to the hour and half past are fine, but when it's quarter past, quarter to or to five minutes, it becomes very tricky. If you'd like to help your child with this at home (as well as using an actual clock to tell the time) we can recommend this game called hickory, dickory clock.
As ever, we are hugely proud of the children for all their hard work this term. We look forward to seeing them after the half term break for our last term together this year. We hope you all have a wonderful week of sunshine and family fun.
Your year two team.
