To graduate from Blair-Taylor, students must earn a total of 26 credits through successful completion of required courses and electives. Credits are the measure of academic progress and accumulated throughout their high school years. Each class period that a student passes is worth 0.5 credits. For example, a year-long course that meets daily typically counts as 1.5 credits (0.5 per trimester). To meet graduation requirements, students must earn 4 credits in English, 3 credits in math, 3 credits in social studies, and 3 credits in science. In addition, students need 1.5 credits in Physical Education (PE), 0.5 credits in health, and 0.5 credits in financial literacy. It's important for students to stay on track each year to ensure they are meeting both the credit and subject requirements needed for graduation.
Students track their progress throughout high school, by completing their Path to Graduation, which you can find on the link below. Students are able to view the required classes and total credits needed on their path to graduation. On the second page of their path to graduation the students can organize their involvement in clubs/organizations and extracurriculars. In addition, they can track their community service, which they will need for their senior exit interview and scholarships.
Senior Exit Interviews
Aside from earning the required credits through coursework, students must also complete a senior exit interview presentation during their senior year. This presentation serves as a reflection of their high school experience and future goals. Below you will find the requirements and Rubric for the Interviews
