Beginning with the Class of 2017, the Laude System replaced the former class rank system. The Laude System is a point-based system, utilizing a student’s grade point average and the number of credits earned of advanced coursework.
Students will earn one-half to two point per semester for designated advanced courses. A student must successfully complete the course to earn Laude points. Students will be given laude points for classes scheduled for 3rd trimester in their senior year. Note * Points may be adjusted if these classes are failed.
Students will be eligible for the Summa Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude, or Cum Laude recognition by multiplying their cumulative grade point average at the end of the second trimester of their senior year by the total number of advanced classes successfully completed through their four years of high school.
A student must have a minimum cumulative GPA after 2nd trimester senior year of 3.0
A student’s Laude Score will be determined by multiplying
1) the student’s cumulative GPA (3.0 minimum) after second trimester senior year by
2) the number of “advanced” courses completed in all four years as listed on the course website
*There will be no rounding of Laude Scores*
39+ for Summa Cum Laude
28-38.99 for Magna Cum Laude
15-27.99 for Cum Laude
