How do these topics make you feel?
Do any of these concern you?
Maybe they are not a top priority in your life, but you know of people who it does affect or who would want to get involved on these topics.
The most important thing to say is:
Making a difference takes work. That is for sure! But to make a truly impactful difference, it takes planning.
Think of it as a roadmap. If you live in Canada you may have heard the following joke:
When traveling you a long distance -- from Provost, Alberta to St. John's, Newfoundland -- you need to prepare for the trip to make sure you know where you are going. For sure we have GPS on our phones now, but you may come across obstacles along the way. You need to anticipate these obstacles.
Food stops
Toll highways
Construction
Poor roads (pot holes in spring and summer, icy roads, gravel roads...)
Gas stations
Trans Taiga Road in Québec has one section of the highway with no gas stations for 500 km. You may not be traveling to this destination. But there are places that have a long distance between gas stations. Preparation is key.
If you want others to take you seriously, you may need to prepare a presentation to share your idea with others. Sometimes this presentation must be made in a formal meeting such as a town council meeting or a company sponsorship meeting. First impressions WILL make a difference.
