In order to be eligible to vote in Alberta, you must:
Be at least 18 years of age
Be registered to vote
Canadian citizen
If an immigrant has not gone through the citizen process they will not be allowed to vote.
Bylaws for each municipality will indicate if you have to be living in the community for 3 or 6 months
The person who votes DOES NOT have to:
own property
be a graduate of high school - if the student is 18 years of age, they can vote
have a job
You will become the experts on your own scenario.
Form a group of 3-6
Give each member of your group one of the scenarios. How many are handed out will depend on how many are in your group.
Form your new group with other teams members with the same numbered scenario as you.
Read the scenario and determine if a person is eligible to vote based on the scenario. Be sure to provide supporting evidence.
Record your infomration on your own paper.
Return to the larger group, share your scenario and discuss what answer your group came up with.
