A contest is being held to determine who can be Prime Minister for the day. In order to be selected as the "next Prime Minister", you will need to show the judges the Speaker of the House of Commons that you have knowledge on how Canada's political system works and that you are able to respond to issues that impact Canadians.
Prepare a speech that includes the following information:
How do the three branches of government work to respond to issues that affect Canadians?
How does our political system involve citizens in decision making?
What issue do you feel is the most important that government should deal with and how would you propose to do this? Use supporting evidence to help you persuade the Speaker of the House.

Using the PMFTD - Prewriting, respond to the questions - PMFTD - Prewriting Part I and Part II
Look through the resource list to find a topic that is of interest to you. When you find the topic of interest and respond to the questions on the prewriting sheet in Part III by doing background research. Be sure to record your research resources on the PMFTD Resource List
Organize your material in both the prewriting sheet, and your resource list in order to prepare you speech.
After writing your speech and ensuring it contains ALL the criteria, submit it on Workspace.
Although this speech is to be written out, three people will be selected to read their speech based on the quality of their information. As a group, we will vote on who we think should be the "next Prime Minister".
