Creating Professional Email Addresses

When creating an email address that is going to last you through job applications, contacts for professional organizations and family messages it is important to select an email address that is appropriate for what you will be using it for.

Most Important Rule!!

Use your name: ....no nicknames or non-serious names such as CoolDude123

1. firstname.lastname@...
2. firstinitial.lastname@
3. firstsecondinitiallastname@
4. any combination of your real name

Some email domains may have your name already in use and you may need to work a bit to get an email that works. Try to avoid using significant dates as this will make it easier for people to steal your identity.
