Overview of Barrier: Just because students log into their learning management system (LMS) or attending synchronous classes doesn't mean they are engaging in or processing the content. Monitoring students’ understanding and progress in learning new content through frequent formative assessment is critical to keep students from falling behind or disengaging. Teachers can adapt and employ specific techniques to help students learn, generalize, and maintain newly acquired knowledge and skills in distance learning environments through organized, logical, concise, and clear instruction.
