We have been learning about community helpers and incorporating fun activities to go along with the theme. Water day happens during the last week of school. All of the preschoolers enjoy extended time outside together with water tables, parachute activities, bubbles, sidewalk chalk and trike riding. A great way to work on motor, social and communication skills. Preschool will be honoring forty-three graduates at the Preschool Graduation Ceremony. Students will sing songs and receive diplomas in front of their families and friends. These students are excited to enter CUBdergarten and Kindergarten next year.
It's hard to believe that the end of the year is upon us. The Cubs are looking forward to the fun surrounding the end of the school year. We will have our annual Cub birthday party on Monday, May 19th. We are walking to Eric's Ice Cream on Wednesday, May 21st. Shout out to the Bryan Elementary PTO for making this possible. We wrapped up our oviparous unit with baby chicks and our Ryan T. Higgins author study this week. We are looking forward to the last ten days of school.
It is crazy to think we only have a few days left of our school year together! We are busy doing our ABC Countdown. The students are enjoying coming in each day to see the fun activity for the day!
Next up is our End of the Year Program on May 22 at 1 P.M. Parents and Grandparents are welcome to attend in the B.E. Downstairs Gym. We can't wait to celebrate a wonderful year with all of you!
Biography fair: This month the first graders worked on researching a famous person. They put the information into a report that they presented to their families.
Eric’s Ice cream visit: Thank you to our PTO for providing the opportunity for each class to walk to Eric’s Ice Cream to enjoy a treat!!
On Thursday, May 22nd the first graders will walk to the Imagination Station to have a picnic lunch and play. Please send a packed lunch with your child and have them wear tennis shoes as we will walk to the park.
Second graders at BE are having fun learning about how worms change the environment. Pictured here are our students participating in setting up and creating a grade-level compost bin. A big thanks goes out to Ann Marie Michaels from the Williams Soil & Water Conservation District.
1st graders won this year's overall behavior challenge earning them the opportunity to paint a snow plow for ODOT! It has been fun to see how much the kids are enjoying this hands-on experience. Many have even exclaimed that it’s the "best day ever!" We will be finishing up our plow painting and anxious awaiting judging between several schools and students of all ages.
Additionally, thanks to your support through the purchase of holiday art cards in our recent fundraiser, we were able to acquire some fantastic supplies for this year's art show. The students will have everything they need to unleash their creativity! We have also purchased boards that have been placed in our deep trophy cases, which will allow us to showcase their art for years to come. Thank you so much for your support and for contributing to our students' artistic endeavors.
We had great fun at our field days. Thanks to Mr. Cummins, Mrs. Hall and our high school helpers for making it such a great time!
The 1st and 2nd graders put on an AMAZING Spring Concert. Mrs. Grime and the students had been working hard during their general music classes and were excited to see so many faces in the audience. Thanks to all who came out to support these young musicians!
If you missed the concert, you can still watch it courtesy of Golden Bear TV.
