Grant Proposal Website
Your website will be a very simple site, easily reviewable by those not familiar with your topic. It should provide summary information in the group's own words throughout the site. Please read this ENTIRE page before starting your website.
Please note: NO student may delete or edit ANY other student's work without express permission of BOTH of the group's teachers.
Website Guidelines:
Important: Please note that website text must be original, and cannot simply be copied and pasted from your paper or any other source. Your site text will be submitted to a plagiarism checker to confirm that it is both original and not copied from a student paper.
Your Group's site should consist of the following pages and information:
The Home Page should have 3 distinct sections of 75 to 100 words each.
A summary background of your group's topic: when and how did this topic come to prominence? How has the scientific world and the public at large historically dealt with this topic?
Current research and actions in regard to that issue: what is the most recent knowledge about this topic, and what is currently being done to increase knowledge of this topic? What actions are being taken by governments, organizations and the public in regard to this topic?
A summary of your group's specific "Next Step Proposal" (think in terms of an abstract for that) that provides a broad overview of your group's proposal plan.
The Funding Proposal page must include 4 sections of 200 to 250 words each. Bullets or outline format may be used where appropriate. To see an example, click on "Sample Proposal Page."
The first section must contain a "Statement of Need." This statement must basically summarize what specific issue, directly related to your topic, that your group will address with the plan. It also must present a compelling case as to why this specific issue is important enough for your group to choose.
The second section is the "Goals" section. What is your group hoping to accomplish? Goals should be measurable and should include information as to when and how they will be measured.
The third section should list all of the specific proposed actions in your plan. It should clearly describe WHAT actions will be taken, WHO will take those action, and WHEN and WHERE will the plan take place.
The fourth section should list all estimated costs associated with your proposal. Your grant proposal does NOT have to exactly equal $1,000,000. Your group may decide to create a grant proposal for more or less money. Groups who ask for more than $1,000,000 will need to include information on how they propose to obtain that additional funding. Cost estimates should be as complete, detailed and as realistic as possible.
The Reference Page must include the following embedded in the page:
The Group presentation slideshow
Include links to all group member's papers
A resource list that includes all major sources of information the may be useful to those considering funding your project.
A copy of your group contract
