Wind and water mills were a key part in the development of the Islamic civilization. Ancient Islamic civilizations relied on animal power rather than wind and water power. That's why the invention was so revolutionary. The wind and water mill had many benefits when working properly. The mill could help when providing power to an area without relying on animals, it could also be used to protect a village during storms. It was originally made out of mud bricks and wood but was later revised because it was proven less efficient. This invention changed how they went through everyday life.
