The flying machine was needed for many things but it was made from curiosity. Abbas wanted to make flying possible. The flying machine was needed to transport things like people or items from point A to point B in a more efficient way. Overall it was to make it easier for these to be moved.
The flying machine was made out of silk, wood, and feathers this was to replicate a bird so it would glide through the air like a bird. Abbas believed that if he were to make it built like a bird then it would operate like one when flying. The flying machine was tested in a water tube instead of a wind tube because it was easier to use a water tube. The test was a smaller replication that was about 16 inches big.
The impact that the invention of the flying machine had was huge. The flying machine led to the flying we have in the modern day. When the flying machine first started it was just one person and now planes are a luxury experience. Abbas invention of the flying machine was the stepping stone into the world of flight. When the flying machine was first created it was so impact because it was something new it was the next big thing in science. Not only did it impact the world then but even now it is the reason we have flight today. The impact was so strong that it lead to the flying aircraft in modern day.
Abbas invention of the flying machine and later on found documents of his are what led scientists to find aviation. The study of aviation is when they study the way the aircraft is made. Aviation tells us why we need the tail, the wings, and even the rubber tires to land. Without the study of aviation and Abbas documents this may have never been discovered.
This is the statue of Abbas when he was testing the flying machine. This saute was there to show honor to him because he was the founder of the study of aviation. This wonderful work of art is right out side Baghdad international airport. To show his importance of flight in the world today. He is still know as the father of aviation
This is an image of the replication of Abbas and him testing the flying machine for the first time. In the image you can see the wood boning of the wings and you can see how they were controlled by the lever sort of device in his hand. This model shows the underneath of the flying machine like you are looking up from the ground here you can see a great view of the silk that was also used to form the flying machine.
