The Islamic Civilization was founded by the Prophet Muhammad in the 7th century. The civilians of the Islamic civilization where meant to be followers of this Prophet and followers of the Islamic religion. Caliphates were different time periods with different rulers during the years active of civilization. Some caliphates include Rashidun, Umayyad, and the Abassid. The Rashidun Caliphate was the first caliphate which was formed after the Prophet Muhammad's death. The Umayyad's are sometimes considered the most succesful as they acheived great terretorial expansions. Whereas, the Abassid's switched the capital, which would later lead to the Islamic Golden Age. Speaking about the Golden Age, this was a period in which the Islamic civilization had many advancements; some that are still used to this day. For example: hospitals, banking, and windmills . Their civilization would span from Northern Africa and Spain all the way to parts of India.
