Perspective of Art! Art was such a crazy thing during the Italian Renaissance, especially since they just came out of a bleak time where there was war and chaos. Culture, literature, and the arts were set aside in Italy, and practically all of Europe was in a stage of mayhem and bloodshed. Not to mention that the feudal system and churches were using the art for religious purposes, letting few of the creative minds flow and set free. This invention was not specifically made, but without it society wouldn't have begun to open up their arms to culture and the arts, and they wouldn't have impacted civilization then or now!
Wondering how this invention impacted society, since I've been talking non-stop about it? Well, here it is!
This invention impacted society back then because of the things they've developed like the art of perspective. Thanks to Da Vinci's art skills, he was able to use camera obscura to make the perspective of art pieces look more realistic and life-like. Or Pierro della Franesca who incorporated geometry into perspective in order to make the art more easier to draw for artists. Not to mention making it POP more! Or how Jan van Eyck developed oil paints. He might not have invented them, but he perfected the technique to make it so much better, because now the colors are so much fuller and brighter, not to mention they give off a soft, nice texture to the painting. We also can't forget how it also brought memorable pieces such as The Mona Lisa by Leonardo Da Vinci, The Birth of Venus by Sandro Botticelli, or The School of Athens by Raphel. These artists have made such brilliant developments to the art world, and have even created art pieces that still wow us even in the 21st century.

Jan Van Eyck was a painter who perfected the art of oil painting, making the paint more smoother, softer, and brighter . You can tell through his many paintings like Arnolfini Portrait, Virgin and Child with Canon Can der Paele, Madonna of Chancellor Rolin, and more.

Though this invention might not have heavily impacted civilizations or was historically important like the invention of the telescope or the compass, it has changed society in some way. Without these developments, art might not have been the same as it is today nor would it be so pretty. These artists did the best they could with the tools they had back then, and thanks to those tools they were able to create renowned pieces and make a name for themselves. One point for the artists!
