Image "Great Sphinx of Giza"
The Egyptian Pyramids were massive structures built for the pharaohs of that time period. These pharaohs were like gods to the people of Egypt and the pyramids were a grand way to send them to the afterlife. Then to add to the pyramids the Egyptians added a Sphinx to watch over the pyramids, specifically the Pyramids of Giza which are the three biggest pyramids in Egypt. These pyramids were built by three different pharaohs who were Menkaure, Khafre, and Khufu which his pyramid is called the Great Pyramid as it is the biggest pyramid in Egypt and the most known pyramid.
Egyptian Pyramids were hard to build, but how they built them was very important as the step-like structure represents a staircase to the afterlife. Though building them was hard it taught the Egyptians how to transport heavy objects in different methods, like rolling them on logs which was the most common method. The amount of people it took to build these massive structures was a factor in the decline of Egypt's economy as it took people away from other jobs. To add to the tomb they inscribed text into them and also added paintings as well like paintings of Ra the Sun God.
Although these pyramids seemed to be the only way pharaohs were buried they were buried in other places as well. This was proven as pharaohs started getting buried in rock tombs in the Valley of the Kings after the decline in the building of these pyramids. Another thing about these ancient structures is that normally they are part of a religious complex consisting of many different religious buildings like temples and even other tombs. To show how crazy they would go to honor these pharaohs they had put whole boats into their tombs most known was the boat of Khufu.
