Presentation software allows users to create presentations of their ideas by using text, images, audio, and video to support a speech or information.
Most presentation software applications provide tools that allow users to create both professional-looking business presentations and general multimedia presentations.
There are a number of presentation programs. We will focus on PowerPoint and Google Slides in this unit.
The Message
An effective message is the most important part of a presentation. The goal is to get people thinking about how the content relates to their own lives. If you connect an emotion to your message, then chances are your audience will remember it.
Graphics
Use high-quality graphics, including photographs. If you use any of the high-quality images available on line, be cautious of copyright issues.
Never simply stretch a small, low-resolution photo to make it fit your layout. Doing so will degrade the resolution even further. Avoid using PowerPoint Clip Art or other cartoonish line art.
Theme
A theme gives your presentation a consistent, professional look. The theme encompasses the fonts, colors, layout, formatting, and images in your presentation. Avoid using pre-made templates. Be creative and design your own look!
Choose your fonts deliberately. Use the same font set throughout your entire presentation.
