Grad Studio

You must be an MML Member to use the Grad Studio

About

Located in Grad Center E, one door away from the Grad Center MML, our studio is an easy-to-use, one-click, video recording studio, equipped with an HD camera, high-quality microphone, backdrops, and lighting. The Grad Studio requires both an online training and a reservation to use. The studio is available 24/7 to trained MML members

Our fully online training module will take about 20 mins to complete. Allow 48 hours after your training is complete to receive swipe access to the space.

Material Requirements

The above is the model used for the MML back up USB-C drive in the studio and can be purchased here

Making a Reservation

You must wait 24 hours after having your training approved to have swipe access and to make reservations

UPDATE 3/18/24

The green screen and white seamless backdrops have been repaired. To prevent future damage, do not hang anything from the rolls, grid, or anything else in the studio.

Multi-user Editing Station

This new prototype station allows for a small group of users (3-4) to comfortably gather and edit video and/or audio together. Equipped with a large monitor, Mac Studio, wireless peripherals and high fidelity speakers, the Multi-user Editing Station is perfect for team projects. Located in the Grad Studio, this station can be reserved and accessed in the same way as the Grad Studio and requires the same training be completed.

Additional Resources

Troubleshooting in the studio

The studio is filled with hanging reference posters throughout the space which will give you step-by-step instructions on how to use different portions of the studio.

Backup Plan

If all else fails, there should be a lightstand with a mobile phone holder in the studio. You can use your phone as a back up and still take advantage of the lights and backdrops
