What is "social distancing?"
Social distancing means stay at home except for essential activities such as grocery shopping, pharmacy visits, doctor visits, etc. Try to limit those essential activities to approximately 1 x per week when possible. Avoid events and places in which large groups of people gather. Don't invite people over to your home and don't visit others in their home. Both inside and outside of your home, you should stay at least 6 feet away from others when possible. Avoid handshakes, high-fives, and hugs. Wash your hands with soap and warm water as often as possible for at least 20 seconds.

Health insurance: Coverage in the state of RI has now expanded to cover telemedicine, including primary care and behavioral health services (more health insurance details).
Note: Brown Health Insurance is United Healthcare. United Healthcare will comply with all national and local policies. However, it is not required that any individual practice implement telehealth. So in short, if a clinician or practice decides to use a telehealth platform, United Health (and thus Brown Student Health Insurance) would cover that care. In addition, Brown Health Services continues to have 24/7 nurse advice coverage after hours and on weekends as they usually do. This is available with or without a Student Health Insurance Plan. They also now have telehealth and will soon have telepsych services available to all Brown students.

Students will be paired with an upperclassman peer counselor. If you would like a SHC peer counselor, please fill out this Google Form that goes only to our 4th year chair, Sigrid Young.
