The Rhode Island Blood Center has announced an urgent need for blood and platelet donors. They have had to cancel many blood drives at schools and businesses that normally help them maintain the blood supply. In order to prevent a blood shortage as COVID-19 strains health systems please consider donating blood. Blood centers across the state remain open and appointments can be made online or over the phone at 401-453-8360.

Given the severity of the Covid-19 pandemic, hospitals nationwide have had to make the difficult decision to limit or eliminate patient visitation. Covid Connectors help patients communicate with their loved ones and help loved ones communicate with patients. Because no patient should feel alone. By donating your gently used device you help make that happen. We will match your device with a RI-based hospital to give patients the chance to stay connected with those they love. Thank you.
RI Pride is gathering donations for food, sanitation supplies and toiletries here, especially for the queer and trans communities they serve.

Please donate canned goods, snacks, and other non-perishable foods to the RI Medical Navigator Partnership Collection Box at the back door of 59 East Transit St. Providence. We ask that you sanitize/wipe down your donations before dropping them off.
House of Hope is also collecting monetary donations to be used to purchase food/grocery store gift cards for people experiencing food insecurity. Please use this link, click "donate" in the top right corner, and insert "covidfoodrelief" in the description box when making your donation to donate to this specific effort.

As kids and families face food insecurity, housing insecurity, and other unexpected barriers, the American Academy Pediatrics (AAP) we have compiled a submission form to gather local and national resources. Once there are enough resources to share, the link will be posted on their collaboration site.
AMOR is also sharing this community resource list which contains information about getting on unemployment or disability, sites for free meals (especially for kids), recovery/sobriety support, mental health maintenance, and more. This is a live list, so if you're not seeing the thing you need information about, check back!
Alliance to Mobilize our Resistance (AMOR) is collecting donations both for direct payment of people's expenses and to purchase food & supply donations in bulk for people who should or must stay home, particularly undocumented people, refugees, elders, gig workers and day laborers.
This fundraiser is for financial relief for RI hospitality workers (server, dishwasher, bartender, host/ess, hotel...).

Rhode Island Responds: The RI Responds system is used to register and credential healthcare and community volunteers who are interested in assisting when skilled individuals are most needed. The program supports a variety of personnel who may be utilized during disasters, all-hazard response efforts and public health activities. There are three distinct options available to you as an interested volunteer in RI Responds:
The Rhode Island Disaster Medical Assistance Team's Medical Reserve Corps
The Statewide Emergency Registry of Volunteers (SERV-RI)
Disaster Behavioral Health Response Team (DBHRT)
This form allows Ward 1 (Fox Point, portions of the College Hill and Wayland neighborhoods) residents specifically to offer or request assistance. If you live downtown or in Fox Point, a nice thing to do might be to see if an elderly neighbor knows about this and if they would like help filling it out -- keeping your distance, of course. Email juliajcarlson@yahoo.com with questions.
AMOR RI - Alianza para Movilizar Nuestra Resistencia: AMOR is also looking for volunteers to receive information about people's needs (through their hotline), put up outreach flyers and other materials, be neighborhood car/bike runners from a supply hub to people's doorsteps, and more. There are both remote and in-person options.
RI Pride is gathering requests for food, sanitation supplies and toiletries here, especially for the queer and trans communities they serve.
RI hospitality workers: If you do hospitality work (server, dishwasher, bartender, host/ess, hotel...) and need relief funds, go here.
