Please Read and Review the current BFS Coaches Manual each and every season.

We are required to follow all the Rules and Regulations.

Attached are the current NYSAIS Guidelines for Middle School and Upper School Student-Athletes. Please look them over and let me know if you have any questions.

All BFS Student-Athletes need to attend 8 practices before participating in an actual game.

  • BFS School Specific Rules:
  • Playing time: The goal for BFS Middle School Athletic Teams is to include each and every player in each and every game. The goal for BFS Junior Varsity (JV) Athletic Teams is to make an effort to include each and every player in each and every game. The goal for BFS Varsity Athletic Teams is to play players based on coaches discretion.
  • BFS does not support players from other schools (if that other school does not offer a Team)
  • Seniors are only eligible to participate on the Varsity level.
  • 5th year seniors are not allowed to participate in competition.
  • Once a player moves up to Varsity level they no longer can participate on the JV level.
  • 9th graders are encouraged to play JV if Junior Varsity Team is an option.
  • 8th graders who are "exceptional" athletes can consider applying for the APP Process.
  • 6th graders cannot play on 7th and 8th grade Teams.
  • 7th and 8th grade fans need permission from Middle School Division Head to travel on team bus to practice and/or games.
  • US fans need parental permission to travel on team bus to practices and/or games.
