What is SkillsUSA?

Goal

This unit will last six class periods. Upon completion, students will understand the purpose SkillsUSA and increase knowledge of the organization.

Targets

• Define SkillsUSA to unaffiliated, inquiring individuals, including the essential elements that makeup the SkillsUSA framework
• Learn about the evolution of SkillsUSA
• Recall the mission, motto, creed and pledge of SkillsUSA
• Recall and define all parts of the SkillsUSA emblem and organizational colors
• Demonstrate correct official dress of the organization.
• Identify current state officers, yearly theme and the districts within the state
• Define the roles of chapter officers
• Learn how to set SMART goals as required for the CEP
• Perform basic parliamentary procedure in a group meeting
