It is important that you inform us of changes in circumstance that may affect the apprenticeship, and will therefore require the Apprenticeship Training Plan to be updated and re-signed in APTEM.
Below are some examples of reasons to notify the Architect Apprenticeship team on tde-apprenticeships@brookes.ac.uk.
>>Apprentices please note, if you are considering a change of employer please contact us as early in the process as possible<<
Change in mentor : Following the change the new mentor will receive an introductory email containing links to the Employer and Mentor handbook, Key dates etc
Change in line manager: Following the change the new mentor will receive an invitation to register with Aptem and an introductory email containing links to the Employer and Mentor handbook, Key dates etc
Change in role (internal move): During the application process we will have reviewed the apprentice's job description to ensure that it is suitable for the Architect L7 Degree Apprenticeship. If the apprentice's job changes within the company we need to check that the new job is also suitable for the apprenticeship
Change in job (new employer): It is important that we have as much notice as possible about a change in employer. This is because there is a substantial process to determine their eligibility and commitment to employing and supporting an apprentice.
Change in contracted hours: A change in contracted hours will require the off-the-job hours to be recalculated, and this will be amended in the Training Plan before being sent to all parties for signature
Requesting time out from the apprenticeship: We understand that there may be many reasons (personal or professional) for requesting to take time out from the apprenticeship. Often this request comes from the apprentice, however the employer also has a responsibility to inform the University if an apprentice will be absent from work for a period of time. During a break in learning (of more than 4 weeks) the apprenticeship levy payments are suspended and the expected completion date extended.
Request to withdraw from the apprenticeship: If an apprentice needs to withdraw from the apprenticeship they should contact the Architect Apprenticeships team for advice.
Notification of redundancy: If an apprentice is made redundant please contact Architect Apprenticeship team as soon as possible so that future options for the apprentice can be discussed
