This learning resource for 5-7 year olds (Key stage 1) includes a picture book and a model showing Duck and his friends clearing a river of litter. Using these as stimuli for writing and music making, pupils are asked to create a radio play exploring the characters of the animals and the task ahead of them.

By exploring the differences between the habitats described by Kenneth Grahame in The Wind in the Willows and real riverside habitats, this resource encourages pupils to think carefully about issues of pollution, locally and across the world.

This learning resource for 7-11 year olds (Key stage 2) contains details of three hands-on activities that can be completed before visiting the River and Rowing Museum in Henley. It goes on to describe two workshops at the museum that build on pupils' knowledge. Finally, experiences from the visit are harnessed in music and dance activities that can be undertaken back in the classroom.
