Access to Rooms

"Our residents do not live in our work place, we work in their home".

Your room is your home. The University respects this and aims to minimise access to your rooms as a result.

However, there are a number of instances when we will have to access to your room. These reasons include:

1. Planned maintenance: 7 days notice will be given wherever possible and 24 hours notice where advance notice is not possible. Planned maintenance includes Legionella water testing, fire alarm testing, emergency light testing and Health and Safety Room checks.

2. Emergency maintenance situations; Concerns about Wellbeing; Immediate concerns for the health and safety of yourself or other students. These situations may mean access is required without notice.

3. Maintenance issues reported by yourself or as part of a Health and safety check will require access to your room to resolve the issue. You will not be given notice for this work.

Staff members will always knock on the door before entering
