The State of New York requires that all students complete a minimum of twenty-two credits, two of which are earned by completing a ½ credit of Physical Education during each year of high school. The following units of credit are required for graduation in New York State
English 4 credits
Mathematics 3 credits
Science 3 credits
Social Studies 4 credits
Foreign Language 1 credit
Health ½ credit
Studio Art/Music/Theater Arts 1 credit
Physical Education 2 credits
Electives 3 ½ credits
Total 22 credits
Throughout the four years of high school we recommend that Bronxville students work closely with their counselor to develop a program of study that best fulfills their interests, fosters their goals and prepares them for their post secondary experience. Credits students should complete
English 4 credits Mathematics 3-4 credits
Science 3-4 credits Social Studies 4 credits
Art/Music/Theater 2-4 credits Foreign Language 3-4 credits
Physical Education 2 credits Health ½ credit
Electives 3-4 credits
Students must be enrolled in 5 credits plus PE each year.
REGENTS EXAM REQUIREMENTS
Students graduating from Bronxville High School must have passed five Regents exams (or equivalent testing) as outlined in the following schedule from the NY State Department of Education *:
English language Arts, Algebra 1, Global History and Geography, U.S. History & Government, and Science [Earth Science, Living Environment (Bio.), Chemistry, or Physics]
*Students transferring into Bronxville High School must complete the required Regents exams or accepted alternate exam according to their grade of first entry into a New York State school.
