The human body

On 1st December the children in STEM Club went on a trip to visit the Pod at Centre of the Cell at Queen Mary University of London to learn about the human body!

Did you know that as a baby you have 270 bones but by the time you are a adult you only have 206 bones?

Also in your body there are over 600 muscles!

The human body has over 37 trillion cells!! That is 37,000,000,000,000 cells!!!

Neurons are like nerve cells. Our brains have about 100 billion of them! Each neuron sends a message about 200 times per second. That means that about 20 million billion messages move around our brain every second! That's a lot of information!!
