Work-Based Learning Programs are offered at Brimfield High School and not only provide high school credit towards graduation but also give the students a hands-on learning experience in a career field they may be interested in.

Dual-enrollment courses are offered to high school students to take online or on WIU campus.
Online courses are taught by WIU professors. You will not have a choice of what professor you want and you may not know who your professor is until the first day of class.
The high school does NOT have a contract with the university, all fees are sent to student and parent and paid through your WIU account.
Online DE course fees will start at approximately $341 (⅓ cost of regular WIU courses)
Your grade will be documented on both a WIU transcript and high school transcript.
Receiving an “Incomplete - I” or “Late Withdrawal - W” for your WIU course(s) will result in an “F” on your BHS transcript

2026-2027 Applications are available in the Counseling Office. Application deadlines will be in 'Announcements' and shared on social media platforms (deadline expected in February/March 2026). See Ms. Ross if you have any questions or interest in the WBL programs.
Tuition only is covered by PERFECT program. This program will require students to drive to new locations within Peoria County weekly for classes and training. Locations can include Peoria, Morton, Washington, Pekin and so on.
Semester 1 - Students will get an introduction each week to a new trade.
Semester 2 - Students will choose a trade they are interested in and focus on learning that specific trade with a local business.
Tuition only is covered by PERFECT program. Textbook fee may apply. Course is on ICC Peoria North Campus (University St.).
Students will train as a CNA and, if qualified. be given the option to take the certification exam at the completion of the course.
